We are a group of dedicated volunteers who have
formed a new 501(c)3 federal non-profit group in the Puget Sound area of Washington State.
The members of the Northwest Greyhound Advocate Program, or NOGAP, find
loving homes for retired racing greyhounds and provide support for
those who adopt them.
We established NOGAP to provide individuals and
families who are interested in retired racing greyhound adoption with a
variety of resources to assist in their decision. One of our many goals is
to work with local adoption groups in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British
Columbia, and Alberta to serve as a conduit between potential adopters and
greyhounds. It is vital to maintain close relationships with those concerned
about the well-being of greyhounds, and one way to “bridge the gap from
track to forever home.”
NOGAP offers support and education to new and
experienced retired racing greyhound owners and supports local adoption
groups through volunteerism and public outreach. We remain neutral in the
greyhound racing debate to focus on the placement of greyhounds into loving
homes. The members of NOGAP have several decades of collective greyhound
experience and we are eager to share our experience, knowledge, and
enthusiasm for greyhounds.
Our hope is that
our diverse talents and professional standards will be an asset to the
promotion of greyhounds as pets. Please contact us at info @ no-gap.org
